The 3rd Sejong Youth Forum

Objectives

  • Creating a platform to share and discuss the roles and responsibilities of youth as global citizens and the tasks that they can undertake.
  • Providing opportunities for Sejong youth to understand, respect, and engage with the world, fostering solidarity, communication, empathy, and nurturing future capacities.

July 17th, 2023 (Mon) ~ July 20th, 2023 (Wed)

Theme

Coexisting with Nature (Emphasizing solutions for ecosystem and biodiversity conservation) Related to Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land.

Participants

Middle and high school students from Sejong and students and teachers from approximately 10 countries overseas.

Venues

  • (Opening Ceremony and Youth Forum) Sejong Government Convention Center
  • (Culture Experience for Overseas Students) Korean Folk Village
  • (Closing Ceremony) Sejong National Arboretum

Key Event Highlights

  • (School Visits) Visiting local partner schools (2 middle schools, 1 high school) to facilitate educational activities and experiences among Korean and overseas students.
  • (Youth Forum) Exploring sustainable solutions for ecosystem and biodiversity conservation under the theme of coexisting with nature. Providing a platform for sharing opinions, fostering communication, and organizing discussions. Sharing the outcomes of international exchange projects through presentations and videos.
  • (Special Keynote Speech) Empowering Youth to Preserve and Protect the Ecosystem: Focusing on the importance of the connection between nature and humans. Emphasizing the active role youth must play in local conservation efforts, raising their voices for the environment, and shaping the future.
  • (Biodiversity and Youth Project) A lecture featuring easily understandable stories about biodiversity and various project examples to enhance youth's practical capacity.
  • (Voice from an Activist) A lecture on research or practical examples regarding future environmental issues, biodiversity, conservation of the Earth's ecosystem, and sustainability.
